A feature of the final session of the CapSci conferences has been The Door Prize. This year, the doorprize was a lunch at Elizabeth's on L, the elegant event room of the Catering Company of Washington. The menu was supplemented by four superb wines* selected by Kenneth Haapala, Master Commander and Dave Barber, Master Cup Bearer of the Brotherhood of the Knights of the Vine - Nation's Capitol Chapter. Those two gentlemen joined the doorprize winner, Kat Vorvolakos, and her guest, Irwin Singer, and led the discussions of the wines. (Commander Haapala is also the current president of the Philosophical Society of Washington, an Affiliate of the Academy).
*Hunold Cremant from Alsace; Sons of Eden Freya, Riesling from Australia; Penley Estate "Phoenix" Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia; and Broustet Sauternes, from Graves
