Capital Science 20xx is a biennial event presented by the Washington Academy of Sciences and its Affiliated Organizations. CapSci12 was held on the week-end of March 31-April 1. It was co-hosted by Virginia Tech, George Washington University, and Marymount
University — the three Universities on University Row in Arlington, VA. The plenary sessions this year were exceptional. NSF provided insights into the Foundation’s Investment in Stem Education and the Academy itself sponsored a discussion of English as a Second Language — Analog Communication in a Digital World. Sessions ranged from discussions of Forensic DNA to Painting on Ice. Even the Potomac Overlook hawk made an appearance.
The following photos will give you the flavor of CapSci12.
