Capital Science 2006

Capital Science 200x, is a biennial event presented by the Washington Academy of Sciences and its Affiliated Organizations. CapSci06 was held on the week-end of March 25-26 at the National Science Foundation in Arlington, Virginia. Living up to the potential displayed at CapSci04, the Affiliated Societies were joined by our new category of Affiliated organizations — Affiliated Institutions. NIST was an active participant, as were Meadowlark Botanical Gardens and Potomac Overlook Regional Park. AAAS again provided the closing reception and forum in which the effect of patent legislation on scientific research was discussed. Myriad topics related to science were examined: the James Webb telescope and the Genome project, the weather and the solar decathlon, gap analysis and quantum information science… The NSF facilities were wonderful and the hospitality of the NSF staff was remarkable.

The following photos will give you the flavor of the event.
