Instructions to
Participants
Please submit your material to Peg Kay -
pegkay@washacadsci.org - by the following dates. If you know that your
submission will be late, please contact Peg as soon as possible. We will try to
accommodate late submissions within the limitations of Conference space.
All submissions (estimates, abstracts, papers) MUST be made through the
appropriate Society. Submissions by individuals will not be
accepted.
- September 30: Best guesstimate of time and
space required. This allows us to hold space for you -- it does NOT commit you.
Try to get your guesstimates in early -- space is limited and it's first come,
first serve.
- January 3: Abstracts (for traditional
sessions) or Titles and Descriptions (for other types of Presentations such as
Round Tables). We will post these abstracts as we receive them.
- February 1: Revised estimates of time and
space required. Again, try to get your revised estimates (or confirm your
earlier guestimates) in early. By this time, space will not just be limited --
it will be tight!
-
- March 6: Papers to be posted on the website
and included in the Proceedings and schedule of presentations. For purposes of
both the website and the Proceedings, papers can be PowerPoint or similar
presentations. The website is laid out in two sections. The first section
contains the name of the sponsoring Affiliate and Title of the Abstract.
Clicking on that will bring you to the Abstract and, if the paper has been
submitted, the attached paper, and when that paper is scheduled to be
delivered. We realize that you may not be able to hold your presenters to the
schedule, but the information will give auditors some idea of when papers of
interest will be presented.
- March 13: Papers to be included in the
Proceedings. In general the papers included in the Abstracts section will form
a major part of the Proceedings (which will be sent, as a CD to all
registrants. However, if someone misses the March 6 deadline, we will hold
processing the Proceedings for a week in order to accommodate the
late-comers.
- Whenever All presenters are invited to
submit their papers to the Washington Academy of Sciences Journal. Instructions
for such submissions can be found at
http://www.washacadsci.org/Journal/journal.htm
Note that the Journal cannot accept PowerPoint presentations.
