the Washington Academy of Sciences welcomes nominations for awards for scientific achievement. Award certificates are presented by a colleague at our Annual Awards Banquet, which is a formal affair with a gourmet dinner in the Washington, DC area, usually in May. Nominations may be submitted any time. The deadline for award  submissions is March 31 of the coming year.
