Abstract:

Commander Christopher T. Steele is a Navy Research Physiologist and is the Director of the Military Operational Medicine Research Program at Ft. Detrick, Maryland. CDR Steele leads Joint and Army medical research funding to protect the health, support readiness and sustain/enhance the performance of warfighters faced with environmental extremes, insufficient nutrition, physical degradation, sleep and circadian disruption, toxic chemical exposures, blast, and physical injuries, and acute and chronic psychological stress. CDR Steele is the current Specialty Leader for the Navy’s Medical Service Corps Research Physiology community.
