Sriram – object-oriented systems

Ram D. Sriram

Object-Oriented Systems: Technology and Applications

A 5-video series on Object-Oriented Systems, produced when Dr. Sriram served on the Faculty of Engineering at MIT.

Part 1: This introductory video discusses the evolution of object technology and the vernacular of object-oriented systems.

Part 2: Video discusses the role of object-oriented database management systems (OODBMS) in engineering, discusses why OODBMS makes sense for engineering over traditional RDBMS, and provides an architecture of OODBMS for engineering applications. The scenario in this video is explained in detail in my book entitled “Distributed and Integrated Collaborative Engineering Design” and is available for free on ResearchGate.com (Paper copies can be bought at Amazon.com).
